The Taguig City government has provided a new way for residents to easily access information.
It has opened an e-library located at the newly constructed multipurpose building in Barangay Wawa.
It is a spacious and fully air-conditioned library with 10 computer units ready to accommodate visitors. These may be used for academic and professional purposes.
Visitor could use the computers to access the internet and for research, writing, multimedia presentations, e-mail, and data analysis and visualization.
The e-library also hosts the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosks, also known as STARBOOKS, of the Department of Science and Technology.
It provides users access to thousands of digitized resources related to science, technology, and innovation, presented in a user-friendly interface.
The e-library also provides access to the National Library of the Philippines’ Tekno-Aklatan program, which offers offline electronic resources.
This will give users access to a wide range of digital collections for which the National Library of the Philippines has subscriptions.
The city government said that soon, the e-library would be able to host Zoom meetings and provide other video conferencing platforms.
Walk-in visits by Barangay Wawa residents are allowed while visitors from other areas are requested to book their visit with the barangay at least 24 hours prior to their expected date and time of visit.
Brgy. Wawa E-Library is open Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 am. to 5:00 pm.
