Commuters using the LRT-1 can now buy their tickets using their phone.
The Light Rail Manila Corporation has teamed up with Maya to launch the LRT1 QR ticketing system, a first in the country.
It allows commuters to purchase a single journey LRT-1 QR ticket using LRMC’s ikotMNL app and the Maya app by scanning the generated QR ticket at the dedicated QR terminals located in all LRT-1 stations.
This would make their commuter experience faster and more convenient, the LRMC said.
Among those present during the official launch were LRMC President and CEO Mr. Juan F. Alfonso; Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Managing Director and OIC-Payments and Currency Development Sub-sector Bella Santos; Maya Group President and Maya Bank Co-Founder Mr. Shailesh Baidwan; and Public-Private Partnership Center Executive Director Ms. Cynthia Hernandez.
