Parañaque Mayor Joan Villafuerte came to the aid of 660 families, or close to 2,000 individuals who lost their homes in the fire that hit the Hontiveros Compound last week.
Villafuerte visited the families who are temporarily staying at the Area 1 Covered Court, Reyes Compund, and San Antonio National High School, and provided them with food and other necessities.
Villafuerte always makes sure to help fire victims, as she herself had experienced a fire when she was in Grade 5.
She knows how hard it is to lose things you worked hard for.
But she also believes there is no reason to lose hope, as the Lord will provide.
Still, she hopes a tragedy like this would not happen again.
