The Valenzuela City government will be coming to the aid of Oriental Mindoro residents whose livelihoods are affected by the massive oil spill.
The city government said it would donate sacks of rice worth P5 million to them.
These would be provided to the the Province of Oriental Mindoro and the municipalities of Naujan, Pola, Pinamalayan, Gloria, Bansud, Bongabong, Roxas, Mansalay, and Bulalacao.
Valenzuela cares for the people of Oriental Mindoro, it said.
The oil spill came from the February 28 sinking of the MT Princess Empress, which was carrying 800,000 liters of industrial fuel oil.
