Pasay Mayor Emi Calixto Rubiano touted the benefits of urban farming as she joined the launch of a program to promote the activity.
Rubiano attended the launch of the I Love Earth Urban Farm, a project of BroomGrow Farms and the Pasay City local government.
The project is in line with Pasay City’s objective to become an eco-city using new ways of farming.
“It is but befitting for us to gather here today in full support of not only the farm, but more importantly, in full love and concern for Mother Earth,” Rubiano said during the launch.
She also said she wants Pasay City to be “globally competitive in all ways, while being mindful and conscious on our eventual environmentally-sound landscapes.”
