Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Acting Chair Romando Artes and General Manager Procopio Lipana met with jeepney operators to discuss plans for the single ticketing traffic system for the metropolis and the loading and unloading zones along Commonwealth Avenue.
Artes vowed to consider the jeepney operators’ suggestions about the fines related to the single ticketing system.
The system could be replicated in other parts of the country if it would prove successful in Metro Manila, he said.
He also said the MMDA would push through with its plan to put up designated lanes and stops along Commonwealth Avenue, and shared that the lane markings and signages are now being put up.
He promised as well to discipline MMDA enforcers, and called on transport leaders to report those who would try to extort from them.
