Muntinlupa distributes leptospirosis medicines to residents

With flooding comes the increased risk of leptospirosis, and the Muntinulpa City government made sure to address this.

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon said the city’s Health Emergency Management Service Team and health center personnel visited the evacuation centers to distribute medicines to those at risk of contracting leptospirosis.

“Maraming salamat sa ating City Health Office-Muntinlupa sa pamumuno ni Dr. Juancho Bunyi!” Biazon said on Facebook.

Leptospirosis is a bacterial infection that could be contracted from the urine of rats and other animals.

This could be avoided by wearing proper protection when walking through floodwaters.

Biazon also advised residents to wash their hands and feet and to keep their surroundings clean.
