Pasig City offers free microchipping services for pets
The Pasig City government is offering residents free microchipping services for their pets so that they could keep track of their whereabouts.
The city government launched the program last week and provided the microchips to 50 pre-registered pets.
“Sa pamamagitan ng microchip na ito ay magkakaroon ng permanenteng pagkakakilanlan ang ating mga alagang hayop sa pet database ng Pasig City,” it said.
Microchipping also has other benefits, it said.
It would allow the monitoring of the pets’ vaccination status and would help ensure these are up to date.
It would also offer a more humane way of getting their temperature.
Should the pets get lost, it would be easier to find them.
The microchip would not get lost and is permanent and safe as well, it added.
The city government said the free microchip program aims to promote responsible ownership and to ensure that Pasig City is rabies free.
The city government is offering the service through the Veterinary Services Department in cooperation with the Plaridel Pet I-Chip and Ortigas Malls / Tiendesitas.
Those who are interested in the service should wait for the schedule for their barangay, which would be posted on the Facebook account of the Veterinary Services Department of Pasig City.
