Mussel farm owners have declared their support for the Navotas coastal development project and have agreed to give up a portion of their farm that is no longer covered by city hall permits to allow this endeavor to push through.

The coastal development project, which Navotas is undertaking with San Miguel Corporation. would involve the construction of an expressway from Navotas to Bulacan and of socialized housing for disadvantaged families.

Glicero de los Santos, one of the mussel farm owners, said his group has agreed to remove a portion of their farm that no longer as permits as the development project would help them gain greater access to bigger markets.

This which would lead to higher productivity and better living standards for their workers, said Delos Santos.

He assured the public that there would be no lack of supply of mussels as they would still have other farms in Navotas and Bulacan to meet Luzon’s needs.
