Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto is very happy about the performance of the city’s Centralized Quarantine Facility for COVID-19 patients.

Sotto said the facility was able to help 13,800 Pasig residents graduate from COVID-19.

And now he also celebrate its frontliners’ own graduation from the facility, he said.

“Words cannot express how thankful, how proud i am of these people,” he said on Facebook.

He is also happy to show that the city’s decision to convert Rizal High School into a Centralized Quarantine Facility had been a good idea.

Staff members of the disaster risk reduction office broached the idea to Sotto weeks before the first enhanced community quarantine, and he gave it the go signal.

He recalled that some people scoffed at the idea and accused him of overreacting, but he still went through with it.

“People came together — our staff, medical professionals, private sector partners — and miracles were performed to establish a 10-building Centralized Quarantine Facility,” he said.

He also said the facility, which was accredited by the Department of Health, was put up in just one week.
