Quezon City Rep. Alfred Vargas served three terms as lawmaker, and he received concrete proof of how productive he had been during this time.

Vargas received several volumes from the House of Representatives that contained the complete record of his legislative accomplishments in nine years.

During his three terms, he was able to author 81 bills that were enacted into law.

He also filed 1,046 bills, and in 899 of these, he was the principal author.

He filed 137 resolutions as well.

Seeing the volumes given to him reminded him of what he has achieved, he said.

“Looking at these right now, I’m so grateful and proud that we have done so much to help the Filipino people in our capacity as policymaker and effect positive change,” he said on Facebook.

He would be leaving the House with “a happy heart and a fulfilled spirit,” he said.

“Service to humanity is indeed the best work of life,” he added.

He thanked the Lord for the chance to help others, and also expressed gratitude to his staff, his friends and supporters, and the Filipino people.

“I would not have done it without you. You inspired me to work hard everyday and dedicate my life to public service,” he said.

His service to the people would continue, he added.

Vargas successfully ran for Quezon City councilor in the May elections.
