National Capital Region Police Office chief Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad has commended the Southern Police District for its recent clean up drive that was able to collect nearly 8,000 kilos of waste.

Natividad also thanked the advocacy support groups, force multipliers, local government groups and other volunteer groups for helping the police offices in this activity.

The SPD regularly conducts clean up drives, and its latest activity on May 26 collected 7,985 kilos of waste.

The areas covered by the activity were Pateros, Pasay, Makati, Parañaque, Las Piñas, and Taguig.

Various police offices and other groups removed trash from the areas and declogged canals and waterways.

The clean up drive is intended to support environmental preservation and ensure the cleanliness of waterways to prevent flash floods, the NCRPO said.

Natvidad hailed the initiative of the groups that regularly conduct this kind of activity.
