More than 15 million commuters have so far enjoyed MRT-3’s Libreng Sakay program.

The MRT-3 announced on Tuesday that as of May 23, the program has been able to serve 15,381,945 passengers since it was launched on March 28.

Of this number, 8.47 million enjoyed the service in the first month.

The program was recently extended to May 30 so that more commuters could save money amid rising prices of fuel and basic goofs, as well as enjoy the improvements of the railway, according to the MRT-3 management.

The Libreng Sakay program was launched after the railway’s rehabilitation.

The MRT-3 also continues to deploy its 4-car CKD train sets to increase passenger capacity.
