Camille Villar wins reelection bid

House Deputy Speaker Camille Villar has won her re-election bid as representative of Las Piñas.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) declared Villar’s victory after she got 130,812 votes or some 60% of the votes.

Villar’s opponents, Louie Redoble and Felipe Garduque II got 65,751 and 18,249 votes, respectively.

“That after such canvass, it appears that Villar, Camille (NP) (NACIONALISTA PARTY) garnered 130,812 votes legally for the office of MEMBER, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, the same being the highest number of votes legally cast for said office,” read the certificate of canvass of votes and proclamation read.

Villar is the daughter of Senator Cynthia Villar and business tycoon Manny Villar.
