Valenzuela signs estate management agreement to provide better housing to informal settlers
Valenzuela City plans to build back better after a fire swept through Dulong Tangke Malinta and destroyed homes of informal settlers there.
Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gacthalian said the city government signed an estate management agreement with the owner of the private lot in the area.
Under the agreement, city hall would manage the property while arranging long term housing.
This would provide a better community for the informal settlers, said Gatchalian.
“With the signing of this estate management agreement, the City Hall is now in the process of converting all our major informal settlers’ settlements located on private properties into livable communities,” he said on Facebook.
He said this project would complement Valenzuela’s Disiplina Village developments, which are intended for informal settlers in the danger zones.
