The National Capital Region Police Office has assured Metro Manila residents that it is ready for the May 9 elections.

The NCRPO would do all it could to safeguard the polls, according to its chief Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad.

“We will continue to monitor and institute initiatives Metro-wide. Intensify police visibility, invigorate deployment strategy and institute all possible effort to ensure that NLE 2022 will be Safe, Accurate, Free/Fair,” Natividad said in statement.

Its personnel are prepared to act on election-related offenses such as vote buying, vote selling, harassment of voters, election fraud, and similar actions, the NCRPO said.

“The legal as well as the operational fronts of NCRPO are now in place to confront, take cognizance and process all kinds of election-related offenses/violations that may crop up right at this very moment up to the termination of the electoral process,” it said.

It has created a Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) that would focus on addressing election-related incidents and filing cases in connection with these, it said.

All districts in Metro Manila were directed to create their own SITGs as well.

The NCRPO also deployed its personnel to key areas and has been conducting round the clock inspection of facilities where the polling would take place.
