The MRT-3 recorded its highest number of daily passengers on May 4.

The number of commuters who rode the MRT reached 345,268 on that day.

It was the highest number since June 2020, when the MRT resumed operations after the pandemic hit.

The high number of passengers was attributed to the free rides that the government has offered.

Before the pandemic hit, the daily average number of passengers using the MRT was between 250,000 to 300,00.

The free MRT rides will be available up to May 30.
