Duterte hopes Russia won’t use nuclear weapons on Ukraine: ‘We will have a dry season’

President Rodrigo Duterte prays that the conflict in Ukraine won’t escalate to nuclear war.
The consequences of nuclear war could be devastating, Duterte said in a speech delivered in Sta. Cruz, Manila Wednesday.
“This ruckus in Ukraine, magdalsal lang tayo na it will not degenerate into something like a nuclear warfare,” the President said.
“Tapos tayo. Tapos tayong lahat because China would not stand idly and allow Russia… Delikado talaga dito when they push the button. Mahirapan tayong lahat. We will have a dry season sa ating buhay,” he added.
Earlier, Duterte instructed the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines to be prepared for potential spillovers from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
