Back to regular business: Rex Gatchalian ‘returns’ hotel used for COVID-19 quarantine
The Meaco Royal Hotel in Valenzuela is back in the hospitality business two years after serving as a COVID-19 quarantine facility.
Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian “returned” the hotel back to its owners on March 31.
In a Facebook post, Gatchalian thanked the hotel owners forresponding the city government’s call for the hotel to open its doors to COVID-19 patients.
“For more than 2 years, this entire hotel was leased out by the City Government to serve as an isolation unit primarily for our frontline workers who contracted covid and that includes government workers like myself,” he said.
“Again, to the owners of the hotel, salamat!! Tandang tanda ko pa, marami akong personal na tinawagan, halos lahat sila tinabla ako to use their facility for Isolation,” Gatchalian added.
