Lani Cayetano vows to expand community services for women

Taguig City Rep. Maria Laarni “Lani” Cayetano has vowed to work to expand community services intended for women.
Cayetano, who is running for mayor in the upcoming election said she and her husband former House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano will continue strengthening healthcare services targeting women in her city.
“We are passionate about our anti-cervical cancer and anti-breast cancer programs na gusto nating ma-expand nang husto sa iba’t ibang dako ng bansa,” the lad solon said.
Aside from its cervical and breast cancer screening programs, the city government conducts thrice-weekly Taguig Love Caravans which provide laboratory services, medical and dental check-ups, and basic medicines directly to residents.
Cayetano also underscored the need to empower women by ensuring safe spaces for them and supporting entrepreneurs.
“Marami po ang mga kababaihan na hindi makaalis sa mga mapang-abusong relasyon dahil po hindi sila financially independent, kaya ang pagtulong po sa kanila at sa kanilang kabuhayan ay napakahalaga din,” she added.
Taguig city government is maintaining the Bahay Pag-asa and Taguig Lingap Center, which serve as shelters for distressed women and youth, and has a Hotline for Child and Youth Welfare and Protection.
The city government is also holding Diskwento Caravan, Market on Wheels, and TienDA Malasakit to help women who wanted to put up their own businesses.
