Jaime Fresnedi leads inauguration of PH’s first indoor Olympic-size swimming pool
In celebration of the 27th Muntinlupa Cityhood Anniversary, Mayor Jaime Fresnedi formally opened the Muntinlupa Aquatic Center, the first indoor Olympic-size swimming pool in the country.
Fresnedi said the facility is the local government’s way of investing in homegrown athletes who will participate in national and international sporting events.
“We value the youth and athletes of Muntinlupa so we invest in facilities that will help them become champions in their respective fields,” he said.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi, together with Congressman Ruffy Biazon and other local officials, led the inauguration ceremony of the Aquatic Center at Muntinlupa Sports Complex last March 1.
Designed by Architect Don Causapin, the Muntinlupa Aquatic Center caters to water sports such as Swimming, Water Polo, Artistic Swimming and other programs including Water Safety Training and Competition, Scuba Diving Pool Session, Swim and Survive Programs and PE programs.
Joining Fresnedi at the event were Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon, SEA Games two-time silver medalist and four-time Asian Underwater Hockey Champion Nadja Buenafe, Philippine National Team to the World Champion Gigi Santos, and members of the 18-time NCAA Champion San Beda University Swimming Team.
