The city government of Caloocan has denied that politics was behind the abrupt cancellation of the permit for a campaign motorcade of presidential bet and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

City Administrator Oliver Hernandez said the permit was revoked due to some missing requirements and the purported violation of the Metro Manila Development Authority’s (MMDA) guidelines for campaign activities.

Hernandez said motorcades can only be held on weekends and holidays, from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. under MMDA guidelines.

Moreno was set to hold a motorcade in Caloocan on Tuesday, March 1, but it did not push through.

The mayor is running under Aksyon Demokratiko while Caloocan Mayor Oca Malapitan is allied with former senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
