Former Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman Ben Abalos traded rest on Sunday, February 20, to share his experiences as a politiko with Sangguniang Kabataan officials from the city’s first district.

Joining Abalos at the gathering held at The Place in Mandaluyong were Vice Mayor Anthony Suva and several councilors.

In a Facebook post, Abalos said “it’s always invigorating talking to the youth.”

“I can’t stress enough just how invaluable learning is, that regardless of how busy your duties in the SK become, you should never forsake your education — for the only way you can be at par with the best in the world, with society’s elite, is by arming yourself with knowledge, with good education.”

Abalos is running unopposed for city mayor. He seeks to replace his daughter-in-law, Mayor Menchie Abalos.
