Charisse Abalos shares marriage lessons on parents’ wedding anniversary
Mandaluyong councilor Charisse Abalos has her parents, grandparents and aunt and uncle to look up to as relationship goals.
In a January 31 Facebook post, Abalos shared the marriage lessons she learned from her family. These include:
– Marriage isn’t always bliss and happiness. It’s staying together in problematic times.
– Marriage involves making time to have a meal with each other, no matter how busy you are.
– Marriage involves choosing to create something together, for each other (be it a family, a business, a future)
– Marriage involves love that radiates not only to each other, but extends towards helping others. (In-laws, friends, community)
Abalos said January 31 is a special day for their family as it was the date when her parents, Mandaluyong Mayor Menchie Abalos and Metro Manila Development Authority chairman Benhur Abalos, got married.
January 31 was also the wedding date of her grandparents and her aunt and uncle.
