Bakuna bus initiative of PM Vargas rolls in district V, QC
Philippine Red Cross, through the initiative of the humanitarian group’s Novaliches Chairman, Councilor PM Vargas, deployed its Bakuna Bus in District V, Quezon City. Hundreds of QCitizens have availed their anti-Covid booster shots through this effort right in their communities.
“We are happy to have the full support of Red Cross in our continuous efforts in giving health protection to our constituents against our unseen enemy, Covid-19. By deploying the Bakuna Bus, more and more of our District V constituents now have the extra boost in their immune system,” Vargas said.
Aside from this, Vargas, leads back-to-back programs to combat the pandemic. “Susi sa paggaling natin bilang isang komunidad ang patuloy na testing at pagbabakuna. I believe that these steps will speed up our way to normalcy and will eventually lead our nation to recovery,” he said, as he emphasized another initiative, free barangay-based antigen testing in all 14 barangays of District V, in cooperation of the Quezon City Health Department.
In celebrating his 40th birthday on Thursday, 27 January 2022, Vargas will also open the first-ever blood bank in District V, Quezon City that will address concerns about the availability and sufficiency of safe blood supply to meet patient needs in his district.
“Health has been one of my top priorities in delivering social services to our constituents. Dito sa District V, hindi ka pa ipinapanganak, nakaalalay na tayo sa inyong kalusugan. We have been implementing our Mula Sinapupunan Hanggang Himlayan comprehensive programs since 2009,” the councilor said.
Around eight billion pesos worth of programs and projects have been downloaded to District V, Quezon City under the Vargas leadership. This amount covers health, education, infrastructure, and livelihood among others.
“We continue to perform our duties, providing assistance and services that our people deserve,” Vargas said.
