‘Pilay’ pero tuloy lang! Vico Sotto shares challenges ofPasig’s COVID-19 jab rollout
The unprecedented surge in COVID-19 cases have led to manpower problems for Pasig, Mayor Vico Sotto shared on Monday, January 10.
In a Facebook post, Sotto admitted that the city government is “crippled” in its rollout of COVID-19 vaccines because many members of the vaccination team were quarantined.
“Times are tough. But I am proud of our team. Kakayanin natin to!” he said.
Sotto visited the vaccination site at Pasig’s Sports Center after Monday’s flag raising ceremony, He said the staff were forced to cut off the line at around 8 a.m. since more than 1,500 were queued.
The mayor said the city government has “no choice” but to implement a walk-in system for COVID-19 vaccination due to problems in reaching the scheduled recipients.
