Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro has signed an ordinance granting business tax relief to sari-sari stores and small eateries to help them recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ordinance No. 103 Series of 2021 provides for full exemption from business tax and other fees for sari-sari stores and eateries with a start-up capital not exceeding P10,000.
The small business’ income must also not exceed P180,000 annually, and they must not be selling cigarettes and liquor.
According to the Marikina Public Information Office, the ordinance was legislated to give relief to small businesses.
“Dama ng Marikina City Government sa pangunguna ng Ama ng Lungsod, Mayor Marcy Teodoro at Vice Mayor Marion Andres ang hirap ng buhay ngayong pandemya kaya’t sa pamamagitan ng ordinansang ito ay makapagbibigay kaluwagan at suporta sa mga maliliit na naghahanap-buhay sa Marikina,” its Facebook post read.
