Mike Defensor’s councilor bets vow to support P1-B cash aid for poor, seniors
Aspirants for councilor who are running under Anakalusugan party-list Rep. Mike Defensor’s Malayang QC ticket vowed to support his plan to allocate P1 billion to provide financial assistance to residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under Defensor’s proposal, senior citizens will also receive a P500 monthly pension while local taxes will be reduced.
“As electoral candidates under Malayang QC Party, we pledge to abide by the principles and platforms of the party, especially with regard to the promotion of the general welfare of city residents and in pursuance of their economic and social development,” read the Covenant for Change signed by the aspirants.
Defensor is running for mayor of Quezon City alongside Councilor Winnie Castelo. He will be up against Mayor Joy Belmonte, who is seeking reelection.
