Defensor ready to face Belmonte in a debate on policies
Anakalusugan Rep. Mike Defensor is ready to face Mayor Joy Belmonte in a debate regarding the policies she imposed in Quezon City.
Defensor said Belmonte could even bring her the lawyer to defend her policies.
“I can face Joy anytime in a debate, haharapin ko po siya kasama (isama) pa nya yung abugado niya, pag usapan namin yung ginawa nila at nangyayari sa pandemya. Kasi mali,” Defensor said. “Mali po yan.”
He pointed out that it is wrong for the local government to purchase ayuda packages for P1,140 when it is only worth P636, or face shield for P67.50 when you can buy it for P10.
“Sa governance, sa pagpapatakbo ng gobyerno, sa priority sa gobyerno ito, sa ginagawa natin dyan magdedebate kami. Isama na niya yung abogado niya, isama nya ang buong konseho nya lalabanan ko sila, haharapin ko sila sa mga maling polisiya na nangyayari ngayon sa ating lungsod,” Defensor added.
He also underscored the need to provide tablets to all students in public elementary and high school.
There are 430,000 students in public schools in the city but around 100,000 were provided tablets.
“Yung tablet binili nila P7,000 when they could have bought it at P4,000 lahat ng estudyante sana nabigyan,” the mayoral candidate pointed out.
The Quezon City government has a special education fund of around P3 billion annually.
