Tulong sa trabaho: Oca Malapitan gives away bikes, cellphones, P5K load to vaccinated workers
Caloocan Mayor Oca Malapitan recently led the turnover of bicycles, cellphones and P5,000 load to over 100 informal workers who have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
The so-called “Bikecination Project” was an initiative of the city government in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). Joining Malapitan at the event was Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III.
The recipients were chosen by the Caloocan City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) based on applicants who lost their jobs. Some of the beneficiaries were sari-sari store owners and laundry soap makers.
“Taos-pusong pasasalamat sa DOLE at PESO-Caloocan para sa patuloy na pangunguna sa pagbibigay natin ng tulong sa ating mga kababayang nais maghanapbuhay,” Malapitan said.
The mayor urged jobseekers to check PESO’s Facebook page at Public Employment Service Office – Caloocan City to learn more about the employment opportunities it offers.
