A modern hospital to be named after the late former President Corazon Aquino is set to rise within the Baseco Compound at Manila’s Port Area.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno led on Monday, October 18, the groundbreaking for the P110-million President Corazon C. Aquino General Hospital.

Once completed, the hospital will have a 24/7 fully operational emergency room, digital x-ray equipment, and centralized oxygen supply line.

It will also feature a community-inclusive outpatient department, radiology department, laboratory and central diagnostics department, dietary department, 24/7 maternity department, and surgery and internal medicine department.

Male and female wards, isolation wards, and a pediatric ward will also be available in the new 50-bed facility.

“Pamahalaan na lang ang sandalan ng tao. Some of us paid the ultimate price. But we have to do what we have to do. We have to do it. We have to take care of our people,” Moreno said.
