Galante! Toby Tiangco OKs cash incentives for city hall employees
Navotas Mayor Toby Tiangco has signed two local ordinances granting cash incentives to city hall employees who physically reported for work amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Covered by City Ordinance No. 2021-23 are employees who rendered services for at least six months. Medical frontliners, defined as those who directly work on COVID-19 cases, will get P6,000. Non-medical workers, who are also at risk of contracting the disease while on duty, will be given P3,000.
Local government employees who tested positive with COVID-19 will receive an additional P2,000 each time they are confirmed to have been infected with the virus from March 2020 – September 15, 2021.
Meanwhile, City Ordinance No. 2021-22 states that the city government will provide a one-time financial assistance to families of employees who passed away due to COVID-19 during the said time frame.
Deceased city government workers, regardless of their job status, who rendered services for at least three months are eligible to collect P20,000 cash assistance.
“We recognize the significant contributions and sacrifices of all our employees who have relentlessly worked during this crisis. We want to express our gratitude and, at the same time, motivate them to continue giving their best in serving our fellow Navotenos,” Tiangco said.
