Bawal lumabas! Fresnedi puts 2 ‘areas of concern’ under lockdown
Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi has announced the granular lockdown for two “areas of concern” in the city due to the clustering of COVID-19 cases and the rapid spread of the virus in the communities.
The areas placed under 14-day Extreme Localized Community Quarantine (ELCQ) from 06:00 p.m. of August 12 until August 26, 6:00 p.m. are Block 8, Hills View and Mangga St., Lakeview Homes in Barangay Putatan.
As of August 12, both Block 8 in Hills View and Mangga St. in Lakeview Homes have 9 active cases each. The two communities also have high risk population of senior citizens, PWDs, pregnant women, and children. Notably, Block 8 in Hills View has 60 children more than 5 years old and 20 who are under 5 years old while Mangga St. have 65 senior citizens.
Residents of the said communities will not be allowed to go out of their area during the ELCQ and mass testing will be conducted, including the contact tracing of close contacts.
The local government and the barangay has assured the distribution of food packs and other items to residents throughout the duration of the ELCQ.
The police, meanwhile, will secure the areas and augment roving personnel in nearby areas to ensure the public’s strict compliance to health protocols.
