Around 2,000 residents from two barangays in Pasay City benefited from a feeding program conducted by Advocates and Keepers of Overseas Filipino Workers (AKO-OFW) in partnership with the Lingkod Loren program on Sunday.

Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Board of Trustee and AKO-OFW founding chairman Dr. Celerino “Chie” Umandap said that they distributed around 2,000 pieces of bread and three pots of porridge among Barangays 180 and 181 with the help of Pasay Councilor Onie Bayona.

He mentioned that the program was made possible through the help of Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda as they want to help ease the struggles of residents who are experiencing food shortage under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) which will run for two weeks.

Umandap said the office of Legarda is prepared to coordinate with AKO-OFW Inc. for more programs such as this in the future so that more Filipino families will benefit from it.
