Never too late to grow a green thumb: Ruffy Biazon cheers on LGBTQs in learning urban farming
In celebration of the National Nutrition Month, the local government of Muntinlupa signed up 50 members of the LGBTQ+ community to undergo training on urban farming of medicinal and herbal plants.
Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon showed support for the trainees by attending their orientation on July 13 at the Muntinlupa City Technical Institute, Brgy. Putatan.
In a Facebook post, Biazon said trainees can use what they learned to stretch their budget at home or even earn from it.
“Pwede din nila ito gamitin sa pansariling pangangailangan sa kanilang household. Ang kaalaman na ito ay magagamit din nila sa pagbibigay ng nararapat na nutrisyon sa kanilang mga anak,” he said.
Biazon said his office helped fund the training of the residents and purchase of the plants that will be distributed to communities for the urban gardening program.
