Gone to waste? Storage problems halt Muntinlupa’s rollout of Pfizer jabs
The local government of Muntinlupa has temporarily suspended the administration of second doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine at the Festival Mall starting July 15 due to problems in the storage facility.
In a statement, the city government said there was a change in temperature that may have affected the quality of the vaccine.
“Prayoridad natin ang kapakanan ng bawat isa kaya’t nagdesisyon pong huwag nang gamitin ang mga bakunang ito. Mas mabuti na pong sigurado tayo dahil kaligtasan ng mga babakunahan ang nakasalalay dito,” it said in a statement.
The city government appealed for patience from the vaccine recipients and advised them to wait for a new schedule.
It said that local health officials are now coordinating with the national government on the next steps to take.
