No face masks, distancing: Joy Belmonte orders closure of bars in viral social media ‘party’ posts
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has ordered the temporary closure to the G-Side Bar in Tomas Morato and Ciso’s Gastrobar in Del Monte Avenue after several photos and videos surfaced on various social media sites where guests were seen partying.
The closure orders were served on the two establishments Monday, July 12. Task Force Disiplina head Rannie Ludovica said the appropriate charges will be filed against the owners of the clubs by the city prosecutor’s office for violating the general community quarantine guidelines for business establishments.
“The patrons of these bars even had the audacity to post in social media their wanton violation of health and safety protocols, oblivious to the fact that there are more transmissible variants now and public safety remains at risk,” Belmonte said.
The mayor reiterated her call to the public to follow quarantine protocols, as the city government will go after violators.
“No one is exempted from the law, any person who will violate our protocols will be apprehended or will face charges,” she said.
