Imported pa, palpak naman! Zuellig-made vax appointment system for QC crashes
The local government of Quezon City has apologized after its app for scheduling COVID-19 vaccinations crashed on June 10.
The local government said it was informed by the app’s manufacturer, the multinational company Zuellig, that its server “was overwhelmed by the deluge of registrants and A4 priority group members eager to book their first dose.”
“We were later told that EZConsult’s system could not handle this volume of concurrent users,” the local government said in a June 11 statement.
Following the app’s crash, the Quezon City government said it is evaluating Zuellig’s performance and ability to handle the scheduling of vaccination appointments.
The local government said it is also studying other options to book appointments online, aside from barangay-assisted bookings.
