Toby Tiangco urges gov’t interns: Give 100% at work!
Navotas Mayor Toby Tiangco encouraged interns who will start working at the city hall next week to be dedicated to their jobs.
“In government service, we are here not just to do our job. We are here to help ease the burden of the people we serve. Let us give the best service we could offer our fellow Navoteños,” he told the 20 beneficiaries of the Government Internship Program (GIP).
The GIP beneficiaries included two members of the LGBT community and seven solo parents. They will work for the city government for six months and receive P537 daily wage.
The city government has allotted P1.4 million from its Gender and Development fund for the internship program.
Tiangco also encouraged the GIPs to register and participate in the COVID-19 vaccination program.
“I urge you to get vaccinated so you will be protected from the disease as well as those whom you will encounter while working at the city hall,” he said.
