Pwede all! Lino Cayetano: Taguig’s vax hubs to be open to public in late 2021
Filipinos in the so-called NCR Plus bubble can get their COVID-19 vaccines in Taguig once the city has finished inoculating its residents, Mayor Lino Cayetano said Wednesday, May 5.
According to Cayetano, Taguig has 650,000 residents eligible for vaccination, with the city government currently inoculating around 4,000 individuals per day. He said that by June, the city will be scaling up its vaccination rate to 5,600 individuals per day.
The mayor said the city government can finish its vaccination program by November should vaccine supplies continuously arrive starting September and capacity at vaccination sites is increased to 10,000 persons daily.
As soon as all eligible residents of Taguig have been immunized, Cayetano said the city will open its vaccination hubs to neighboring cities and provinces.
“Bubuksan namin sa NCR Plus (Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal) ang mga mega vaccination centers ng Taguig because until everyone is safe, no one is safe,” he said.
