No visitors, wear face mask always: Abby Binay shares do’s and don’ts for home quarantine
The local government of Makati has launched a home care program for residents with mild COVID-19 symptoms, Mayor Abby Binay said.
In her May 3 column for Pilipino Star Ngayon, Binay said COVID-19 patients will be allowed to isolate at home provided that they will have their own room, bathroom and not living with a relative who is part of vulnerable groups such as pregnant women or senior citizens.
A resident who chooses to isolate at home also needs a caregiver, who should always wear a mask and observe physical distancing.
Binay reminded the public that no visitor—even a relative—should be allowed in the room where the patient is staying for the duration of the quarantine.
Laman ng medical kit ang Vitamin C with Zinc, pulse oximeter, thermometer, Betadine oral spray, face mask at hand sanitizer/alcohol,” the mayor said.
Based on guidelines by the Department of Health, Binay said the isolation of a COVID-19 patient with mild symptoms should last for 10 days from the time he or she felt ill.
