Pinaghintay si mama! Vico Sotto reveals Coney Reyes was 6,318th Pasig resident to get COVID-19 vaccine
Coney Reyes has been vaccinated against COVID-19—but like other Pasig residents, she had to fall in line and wait before getting the jab.
Reyes’ son, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto, shared an interesting tidbit about his mother’s vaccination as he gave updates about the city’s inoculation program.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, April 17, Sotto said the city government strictly follows the “first to update, first served” policy for people prioritized for the vaccine. This means those who updated their profile first on the local government’s database will be scheduled first for the jab.
“Following these guidelines, this morning, my mom was the 6,318th Pasigueño senior citizen to get vaccinated! Naghintay siya,” Sotto said.
“Hindi naman siya makapag reklamo dahil siya ang nagturo sa ‘kin para maging masunurin batas at alituntunin ng gobyerno! [laughing-crying emoji],” the mayor added.
So far, Sotto said over 24,000 residents have been vaccinated. Of this number, more than 6,000 were senior citizens.
He thanked the residents for their patience as he vowed that the local government has been introducing system upgrades to the Pasig Health Monitor so updates to their profiles can be monitored in real time.
