Para walang pila: Vico Sotto orders house to house, cashless aid distribution

Cash is coming to homes of low-income Pasig residents instead of them falling in line in venues where COVID-19 could spread.

Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto announced that 40 teams from the local government are making the rounds of communities in the city to distribute the cash aid for families affected by the enhanced community quarantine.

The national government has approved the grant of P1,000 per individual, with a maximum of P4,000 per family.

(kasi sa karanasan natin, biglang dumarami ang tao pag may announcement),” Sotto explained in a Facebook post.

Sotto said qualified cash aid beneficiaries can also receive the money through Paymaya, provided they are in the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s list of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) recipients.

Sotto said the national government has downloaded P681.7 million to Pasig for the cash aid initiative. Not all residents will receive financial assistance, he added.
