Step closer to protection: Lino Cayetano gets COVID-19 vaccine

Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano has received the first dose of Sinovac’s COVID-19 vaccine after the national government allowed some local chief executives to get the jab.

Cayetano said he was vaccinated together with other government frontliners, senior citizens and adults with comorbidities.

In a Facebook post, the mayor encouraged residents to sign up for COVID-19 vaccination so they can secure a slot as more vaccine supplies arrive.

“I urge all Taguigeños to register through Taguig Registry for Access and Citizen Engagement (TRACE) to secure your vaccination,” he said.

Cayetano said the local government expects its orders of AstraZeneca, Covovax, Covaxin, and Moderna to arrive by the third quarter of the year.

“This will help the City in achieving its aim of fully innoculating the Taguig citizenry,” he said.
