Valenzuela Rep. Wes Gatchalian has started to give schools in the city the necessary equipment to enhance students’ learning even if there’s no face-to-face classes yet.

Gatchalian delivered sound systems consisting of an amplifier and speaker to the following schools: Malinta Elementary School, Tagalag Elementary School, Lawang Bato National High School and Polo National High School.

To improve Valenzuela’s education system, Gatchalian also filed House Bill No. 6141 which establishes the Disiplina Village Elementary School (DVES) as a separate and independent elementary school.

The bill seeks to remove DVES from the Roberta De Jesus Elementary School in light of the growing student population in the former due to the increasing number of residents at Disiplina Village.

“There is a need to separate the schools to enable DVES to administer itself in accordance with the specific demands of its students and faculty, among others,” Gatchalian said in the bill’s explanatory note.
