Netflix na lang muna! Oca Malapitan orders Caloocan cinemas to stay shut
Caloocan Mayor Oca Malapitan will not allow cinemas in the city to reopen despite getting clearance from the Department of Trade and Industry.
Malapitan said it will be more prudent for cinemas to remain shut as the threat of spreading COVID-19 inside the enclosed space remains high.
Malapitan asked for understanding for his decision, saying it will be for the public’s benefit.
The DTI recently allowed local government units (LGUs) to order the reopening of cinemas at 20 percent capacity in order to spur economic growth.
