Emi Calixto Rubiano steps up contact tracing after Pasay records 3 cases of COVID-19 South African variant

Pasay Mayor Emi Calixto Rubiano has ordered contact tracing to become more aggressive after three cases of COVID-19’s South African variant were recorded in the city.

Calixto Rubiano said contact tracing continues even if the three cases have already recovered.

“Hindi po tayo humihinto sa ating mga contact tracing para matiyak na mahahanap natin kung meron man silang nahawahan,” she said in a media interview.

At least 77 barangays in Pasay have been placed under localized enhanced community quarantine, with one community under total lockdown.

The city government has deployed 180 policemen to ensure the strict implementation of health protocols while 100 contact tracers are involved in contact tracing efforts.
