The great crossover: Vico Sotto, Rex Gatchalian sign deal to link Antipolo’s contact tracing app
Another local government unit (LGU) has joined the cities of Valenzuela and Pasig in linking their COVID-19 contact tracing apps.
Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto announced on Facebook that Antipolo Mayor Andrea Ynares signed an agreement to link her city’s Bantay COVID to PasigPass and ValTrace.
“You can now use your QR Codes from PasigPass, ValTrace, or Antipolo Bantay Covid in any of these 3 cities!” Sotto said.
The mayor said having a QR code-based contact tracing technology would mean people don’t have to manually fill out health declaration forms. Their data will also be more secure.
He said contact tracers will also benefit from the technology since they will know if someone who’s supposed to be in quarantine is spotted at an establishment.
“Contact tracers can use the data to evaluate if the person being contact trace is telling the truth,” Sotto said.
