Toby Tiangco allows computer shops to pay biz taxes until Feb 28 2021
Navotas Mayor Toby Tiangco has signed ordinances allowing registered computer shops to pay their business taxes and renew their business permits until February 28, 2021.
City Ordinance No. 2020-51 extended the period for payment of business taxes without surcharge, penalty or interest, while City Ordinance No. 2020-52 extended the renewal of business permit and payment of business taxes of computer shops, internet cafes, pisonet and other similar establishments until they are allowed to operate.
“Businesses are still reeling from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many have folded, others have been trying to stay afloat. We hope to give them much-needed reprieve by offering them more time to settle their obligations,” Tiangco said.
“Keeping businesses alive means helping employees retain their source of income and be able to support their family. We will always strive to give as much assistance as we can to enable our people to thrive amid these challenging times,” he added.
Earlier, Navotas granted tax refund to taxpayers who have paid surcharges, penalties and interests on all local taxes and fees due and assessed from September 14, 2020 until the effectivity of City Ordinance 2020-45.
