Di umabot! Charisse Abalos misses couldn’t accompany dad Benhur’s oathtaking as MMDA chief
Charisse Abalos is proud to see her dad, former Mayor Benhur Abalos, return to public service.
The Mandaluyong councilor was offered the opportunity to witness the older Abalos’ oathtaking before President Rodrigo Duterte, but was not permitted to enter Malacañang due to COVID-19 protocols.
“How I wish I was there… but my PCR test result didn’t make it in time,” the politiko said.
She brought her wishes and congratulatory message online. “Congratulations again daddy Benhur! Our new MMDA Chairman!
Not just a multi-termed mayor, but also one that became the President for the League of Cities of The Philippines and the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines,” the younger Abalos said.
“We know that this won’t be an easy job, but we believe in you and we are in support of you!,” she added.
Abalos replaces the late MMDA chairman Danny Lim.
